Redemption Codes for Ubuntu Software Center

I brought this up in unity-design and was told it might be better suited here:

Are there any plans to make a redemption code for commercial
        products available in the Ubuntu Software Center? This way
        promotions like Humble Bundle could provide codes like they do
        with Steam, it would also open up the possibility of gifting
