Recommendations for power efficient applications

Hello everyone,

I bet everyone here who has a laptop wishes that it had a longer
battery life. It turns out that there are things that application
developers can do to make that happen.

Colin King has recently done some work around making Ubuntu much more
power efficient, which he's written up on his blog:
