Question about installing to /opt/packagename

There are a few exception to the rule, for example:

- .desktop files in /usr/share/applications/
- .applications files in /usr/share/application-registry/
- dbus services in /usr/share/dbus-1/services/
- lenses in /usr/share/unity/lenses/

Generally, if there's any way at all to install it in /opt and still
work, that's where it should be. (And, if you're not sure about specific
files in your package, let us know.)
