The Ubuntu team announces the release of Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS (Long-Term
Support) for its Desktop and Server products, and the Ubuntu Kylin flavor.

Similar to the 16.04.6 point release, 16.04.7 is a security-targeted
release for the purpose of providing updated installation media which
protects new installations from the recently discovered GRUB 2
vulnerabilities (USN-4432-1). Detailed information about USN-4432-1
can be found here:

    https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-4432-1

Many other security updates for additional high-impact bugs are also
included, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Other community flavors have reached their end of life for 16.04 and are
therefore not included in this point release.

Users of Ubuntu on clouds are recommended to launch new instances using
the latest images from the 16.04 release stream, which include the fix
in grub for USN-4432-1.

Maintenance updates are provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop,
Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, Ubuntu Base, and Ubuntu Kylin.
