The Xubuntu community is happy to announce the release of Xubuntu 6.10,
codenamed "Edgy Eft". This release includes both installable Desktop CDs
and alternate text-mode installation CDs for several architectures.

Xubuntu is a Linux distribution for your desktop or server, with a fast
and easy install, regular releases, a tight selection of excellent
packages installed by default, every other package you can imagine
available with a few clicks.

Upgrading from Xubuntu 6.06
--------------------------------------------

NOTE: There is a recently discovered bug which makes upgrading via the
graphical update-manager crash and leave the upgrade process in a state
that can only be recovered from by dropping to the command line.

Therefore, it is recommended that instead of upgrade-manager, the
command line upgrade method is used by invoking apt-get dist-upgrade.

Neither a clean install from the CD nor the other Ubuntu variants are
affected by this bug.
