Hi All,

Ubuntu 9.10 was released recently. For those of us who missed the release
note:

The minimum memory requirement for Ubuntu 9.10 is 256 MB of memory. Note
that some of your system's memory may be unavailable due to being used by
the graphics card. If your computer has only the minimum amount of memory,
the installation process will take longer than normal, but will complete
successfully, and the system will perform adequately once installed. Systems
with less memory may be able to select "Install Ubuntu" from the boot menu
to run just the installer, rather than the whole desktop, or may be able to
use the alternate install CD.

The interesting piece this time is the UNR release. I tested the RC build
and it seemed pretty solid. The new software center looks like quite an
improvement for the uninitiated user base.

Also, have been fiddling around with the GoogleOS beta release. It's built
on a base of Suse Studio, it really doesn't seem anything more than a new
theme and integrated google chrome browser.

Feel free to drop in a note if u've tried any of the distro's and your
impressions of them!

Best,
Akshay
