[Ubuntu-AE] Long but interesting read

Hi Sofian,

Welcome to ubuntu! There are quite a few users in UAE that I'm aware off though dont have any indicative numbers. I've surely seen much more server based implementations than desktop implementations of linux, but looks like we're getting there slow and steady.

There is a LUG (Linux User Group) also in Dubai, they do meet off and on, though I don't think they've met in quite a while. If there's enough numbers on this list and a volunteer to help set something up then we can surely give it a shot. I'm happy to volunteer my home @ arabian ranches as a venue.

Best,

A

Hello everyone! My name is Sofian Rahmani, I live in Abu Dhabi. I installed Ubuntu some 2 months ago, and I'm loving it!
How many people use Linux in the UAE? Do you arrange any meetings?

The author has brought together and articulated experiences that most of us have felt in a interesting manner.
