Found out why I can't install anything past Ubuntu 11 on this netbook

Hi All,
I've seen the PAE error message on the Ubuntu server and Arch installs when someone read the screen for me, and I just watched a Youtube that describes how to get around the error.
It seems that almost all Intel processors after 2000 were made with PAE (physical Address Extension).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94q9teA0Mn8
shows the installation work-around.
But I'm not sure what will come after I follow those steps, if I will be at a prompt, or if I will be in an install screen.
Here's another post with some work-arounds:

I may try the route of Xubuntu 12.10 and upgrade from there if I can find that image.
Glenn
