Default unity 7 works. How can I test the new Unity 8 with Orca? At the moment Unity 8 is not accessible with Orca, and is generally not ready for general use. It has been added for users to test and give feedback. Accessibility of Unity 8 is something I may be working on in the coming couple of cycles. Ubuntu packages different kernel packages from Debian and also patches its own software as well, so it's not surprising that they are able to support more devices due to different packaging guidelines and such. Anyone else have that happen? Try pressing Alt first, then super, then s. I've found that sometimes the order matters. Message-ID: <042c4d05-aecc-27fe-220e-c95593e5c344@gmail.com> Hi all, I am venturing back into the world of Ubuntu and Orca after several years of being away. I'm currently using Ubuntu Mate 16.10. For the most part, everything is going splendedly, but I just hit my first little snag. I installed the Private Access VPN service. I believe their app has installed successfully; but the docs say that "Once the software is successfully installed, you should see a client icon in your system tray near the clock". how would I go about accessing this icon via the keyboard using Orca? I'm sure I could work around this issue. There may be a way of running their app from the command line and if not, the service does support direct use of the Open VPN client. Is there a way of accessing the system tray that I'm just not aware of, or is this not possible under Mate? If the latter is true, is Mate the best choice, or should I be looking at either classic Gnome or Unity?
