Hello:

I have a full working install of Ubuntu PPC 12.04 running on a ibook G4 1.2GHZ/1.25GBRAM, 30GBHDD. Wifi works, sound works and everything is all good. Except:

orca comes up not talking, all the settings look right, but no speech at all, under default, speech dispatcher is selected, espeak is selected, speech is enabled, but again, no speech.

when I run spd-say nothing happens, when I setup a new config for user in spd-conf and set audio to pulse and alsa, nothing works. even though when it asks I could hear the sounds I tell it yes and chosing them as my audio outputs does nothing.

when it tries to kill and restart speech dispatcher it has a error 256 that it is not running or can't be connected to.

Also, just for the heck of it I downloaded and installed Festival TTS and with an Echo command I get speech in the terminal. so, I know sounds works, I know TTS talks, I just can't get TTS and Orca to get together.

Can I please get some help with this.

Thanks.
