espeak and libsonic in ubuntu 12.04

Hi,
I am using ubuntu 12.04 and I want to use espeak with libsonic, because
maximum rate of default espeak is too slow for me. I know, I am spoiled
from Vinux, but the higher rate means higher productivity.
I compiled the latest speech dispatcher (0.8 dev) from git, with no luck
- I even added recommended values to
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/espeak.conf, no luck.
Do I have to recompile espeak as well? Is libsonic support included in
epseak package shipping with ubuntu 12.04?
