Orca admin tasks in 11.04

HI,
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04 and log in with GNOME Classic. I start up Orca and it works fine.
But when I start Synaptic Orca refuse to speak. Even when I start Synaptic in a terminal with sudo synaptic. What or how can I do to solve this? Thanks in advance.
