eclipse

Hi all,
There is an annoying problem when I use eclipse on ubuntu, although I 
can not say that only happens with ubuntu.
Every time I close eclipse, the window disappears but the eclipse and 
the java VM are still running, and I am forced to kill the java VM.
I read in several places that if I disable the option of assistive 
technologies the problem goes away, which I naturally can not do.
Recently I discovered that if instead of killing the Java VM I kill the 
process at-spi-registryd, the eclipse is terminated normally.
Any suggestions of what can be done?
