accessible backup program

Do to technical difficulties I have fallen behind with the ubuntu and orca mailing lists.  I noticed no one had responded to this yet.

I'm not sure what your needs are, but I just use tar to make a compressed archive of my system.  I even restored from tar once too.  An explination of how to use tar for backing up can be found here:
