Rick,

There is a forum thread about the subject [1]. Basically, it all comes
down to the fact that if you have an /etc/x11/xorg.conf file, the
xserver will read it and use default settings for everything that is not
specified in that file. So you should be able to create an xorg.conf
that only includes XEvIE specific settings.
