BRLTTY and a USB to serial adapter

I'm not sure about the FTDI chip, but I connect my Braillenote with a USB-Serial bridge.

Have you ried instructing brltty to connect through /dev/ttyUSB0?

sudo brltty -d serial:ttyUSB0

That worked for me.
