[Fwd: alsa upgrade]

He    y all, I have a question regarding the known random crash issue with

speech-dispatcher in Ubuntu Intrepid.  It seems like the version of Alsa
in intrepid is 1.0.17, and according to the alsa-project web site, we
are two versions back.  Has anyone had any experience with .18 or .19?
Has anyone testing Jaunty noticed any less frequent crashes?  If anyone
has any insite, I would definitely appreciate hearing.  Thanks much in
advance.
