wow, there has been a major change in karmic what's going on?

Hi, I notice not only can't I use the old etc method of editing gdm. We no longer have a login window setting in the admin apps either. Is this temporary, or what is going on. The login window setting is how we set a lot of the gdm accessibility settings. With out the terminal way of editing gdm, I can't enable the root account.
