has anyone had this problem with 9.04

Hi, Ok I got 9.04 to talk, but here is the problem I am having.
   If no monitor is turned on the system will not let you login. This is the same with the live CD. It will not login if the monitor is off. I don't use a monitor, and didn't try this two weeks ago when I assumed it wanted a username.
Does anyone know what is going on with this. It will be pretty bad if we have to have a monitor on to use ubuntu.
