need help with this issue

Hi, Orca keeps saying full stop. after I re installed my system. I have tried every setting I can think of and still get this when reading text files, and when listening to update info.
Does anyone know what has to be done to correct this. I am using the version Tony built, and the settings look the same as they do on my other computer running the standard intrepid system.
