ibmtts and sound

Hi all,

First of all I apologize because this list is probably not the right 
location for this type of question.

I'm using ibmtts as my primary output synthesizer      running orca 
under intrepid with all updates.

Everything is working correctly except for the fact that I can not hear 
sounds together with what is spoken by orca.

As an example, if someone sends me a message via pidgin, I don't hear 
the alert sound given by pidgin.

If I change to espeak this doesn't happen.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?
