Can settings be saved to a usb drive?

Hi, I work on different computers, and wondered if there is a way to save settings for the live cd on a usb drive.
Oralux had this feature, and would come up talking using the settings you saved to a usb drive when you loaded the live cd again. 
   This feature in ubuntu would be handy, if it is possible.
