live cd question

Hi, is there a way to get the live CD to copy itself in to ram and run from there.
I think fedora now has this feature and wondered if ubuntu also does.
I have a laptop with one gb ram, so I would think this could work.
 One other thing, is the live CD installable using orca again yet. Mike.
