Dear ORCA-Users,

I wanted to try out the Orca from the live-CD of Ubuntu 7.10.
An error message apeared that the ATSPI-intervace could not be found. So it
started without orca.
Another problem was, that It loggs me in and out authomaticaly.
I hear the login drumm and than the melody after the successful login and so
on.
The screen is black, one can see a mouse but not much more.

Does anybody know what this is?

Best regards

Gerhard.

Hy!
I am tryed generate a new Ubuntu install desktop cd.
Copied With the casper/filesystem.squashfs filesystem files and folders with
the new folder, put the .orbitrc file the target folder/root directory with
following lines:
ORBIIOPIPv4=1
ORBIIOPUNIX=0
I Delete the casper/filesystem.squashfs, And after this, regenerating the
casper/filesystem.squashfs file with the new folder files and directoryes.
I am Maked the desktop iso file and burned it the cd, and after this testing
the accessible installation (f5 key, three down arrow and two enter key
etc).
Launch orca screen reader and setup my needs, and after, click the desktop
icon install. And it is working perfect!

Dear developers!
Possible with the installation, put the installer with the .orbitrc file in
the new installed system with the root directory automaticaly if
accessibility modes selected with the f5 key?
Possible make the next generation Ubuntu install cd-s this modifications?

Thanks,

Attila Hammer

Orca's scripting language is python. My suggestion is to look at Orca source
code, but no idea if there are good docs on API or whatever.

Hi, I would like to try the opposite of what people are doing with multiple
screen. That is to have two desktops side by side on one screen. Why, well I
bought a nice 1920 x 1200 24 inch Samsung SyncMaster thinking all that real
estate would be great. And it is, but it means more moving and re-sizing of
windows, which mean more use of the mouse, an activity which is time
consuming no matter how you do it when you have hand dexterity issues. So I
thought that if I can have two desktops open at the same time on one screen
this would reduce a lot of window management work by just opening
applications in either of the two different desktops. Has anyone seen this
done and can you share any references on how to do it?

Rick Berger
