how do you get rid of downloaded packages

Hi.  Normally, their are several ways of getting rid of packages that ahve
been installed on you're system.  Packages are by default stored in
/var/cache /apt/archives.  As far as actually using these packages on
other systems, their is actually utilities which create apt proxies.  You
could also even mount portions of /var via NFS--so their is a lot of
flexibility here.  personally, portions of the /var tree which are
transient i.e./var/cache, /var/tmp, etc. are mounted via NFS, because a
few machines here do not have a lot of local storage--mainly some Sparc64
machines..
