when using the live CD, how do I log back in after setting up orca?

Hi all,

I have downloaded version 7.04 of ubuntu.  I am able to boot using the live
CD and can get orca running.  However, once the initial setup is complete, I
am told that I need to log out and log back in.  At that point, I hit the
enter key and, the CD spins a bit and nothing else happens.  I do not have
sighted assistance to verify what is actually happening on the screen.

I am running the live CD on an Acer laptop.  During the setup process,
everything works as expected so, I doubt that there is a hardware conflict
or anything else of that nature.
