Installation, sudo accessibility, etc?

Hi folks,
Just wondering where things stand in terms of Feisty and access to admin tools, in particular, the installer? I am aware that some work has been done at the desktop level to make this a possibility, see:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163132
However as things stand right now, this fix in and of itself is not a complete solution.
The problem is that in order for this functionality to be enabled, an orbitrc file containing certain values needs to be created in the home directory of the root user. Granted, there are ways of getting around this issue, as described in the Ubuntu installation wiki;but in order to appeal to as large a user base as possible, the installer really needs to be accessible simply by running it from its desktop icon. I know that the Ubuntu team, along with the Gnome community has been working hard to make this sort of access a reality, and we're almost there! Has thought been given as to how it will be handled in Feisty? Perhaps the necessary orbitrc file could be added to the root user account by default on the live cd, or failing that, an option, accessible via the normal user account's preferences gui could turn it on as needed?
Thanks,
--Al
