Not really.  kttsd can be used to read text from documents if the
application has a plugin (Konqueror does).  Otherwise one needs to be
written.  One would need to be written using the qdbusbridge which is
packaged at http://ppa.dogfood.launchpad.net/nixternal/ubuntu/ (you
need to export QT_ACCESSIBILITY=1), qdasher seems to work a bit so the
framework is all there.
