what changed on the live CD?

Hello,
I downloaded the live CD today. I tried to boot it, but either it hangs 
up, or something changed in the boot process that I am not aware of.
I started as usual
1. boot.
	2. f5, 3, enter.
3. f6, hpet=disable (needed on my laptop), enter.
The boot process started, but cdrom stopped after a while.
Some prompts, or perhaps errors?
