How to detect my Soundcard

Hello all

Today I booted Ubuntu, followed the procedures to enable Orca, but it 
did neither play the start sound nor speak.

Looking at supported hardware at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupport
I didn't find my motherboard among the components, which is an 
AMD-ABit-VA-10(S/R/V) with Via-AC97 onboard soundcard.
Isn't it supported by Ubuntu? If there's support included in the live 
CD, can please someone tell how to make Ubuntu detect it?

Note that Oralux 0.7 Alpha Linux distro detects it straightly.
