[Bug 54975] Aplay terminates Fonix DECtalk, sometimes Orca

Just to add to this - Orca has some defense mechanisms built into it
that attempt to detect if the services is depends upon have gone awry.
When it detects a hang in an external service or repeated failures when
attempting to talk to these services, Orca will quit. This allows an
external watchdog or other such thing to clean up and restart Orca.
What I see from the below is that there is a bad interaction with
DECtalk and the audio system, which looks like it maybe causing DECtalk
to crash.
