Olivier is right, seems like we had the issue in the past and even SRUed a change back then

The change got unfortunately overwritten in the recent merge
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brltty/6.4-2ubuntu1 while bringing
a new version from Debian with some refactoring that made the change
less obvious to notice probably
