Hi,

I upgraded my desktop computer from 11.10 to 12.04 after this the unity-greeter shows the login as expected but the unity bar won't load. my desktop icons are there but no system tray and no unity bar. i treid to install the newest AMD graphic drviers but this was even worse after this the desktop icons are also gone. Then I went back to fglrx drivers this brought my desktop icons back but still no unity there. I removed compiz and tried to modify the lightdm.conf to load gnome-classic or unity-2d. But no success until now. 
After all this en Unity error popped up as I tried to launch unity by terminal, and this leaded me to the bug-reporting.
