[Bug 846547] [NEW] Upgrade to 11.10 fails

Public bug reported:

upgrade-manager -d fails

apt-get installing the package after failure allowed the upgrade to continue
(on a side note the installer stuck on stopping cups, I had to stop it in a shell).

This is an amd64 machine with a SSD, upgrade from 11.04 with very little
use/configuration.
