On a fresh Debian porterbox, the build passes and all tests pass too:

100% tests passed, 0 tests failed out of 45

In case a fellow Debian Developer would like to reproduce this, I used
debian-riscv64-porterbox-01.debian.net

This is an Ubuntu-specific issue.
