I hadn't thought of that. I always used my lid for quick suspend, and
hibernate only by manual choice when I knew I wouldn't be opening it
again for an hour or more. I suppose that hibernation as a result of
the lid switch should fall back to suspend if it fails. That
shouldn't be too difficult to do. Of course, you could disable
hibernation as a choice for the lid switch, but keep it on the menu
for manual use.
