I personally have no interest in joining the proprietary software industry - if we can't make Ubuntu sustainable without charging licence fees, then it would be better to let Red Hat lead the commercial charge and Debian lead the non-profit charge. I believe there's room for Ubuntu to be sustainable, and room for Debian, and room for Red Hat, but if not, then we can hand over the reins to the Ubuntu Foundation and step aside graciously.
