The main program started, the one where you select which program from
the suite to use, but it bitched along the way that it couldn't do
certain things without the JRE.  What those things were I don't know,
the error message didn't say what.  As the progress bar filled up the
message popped up about five times.

I was able to launch the word processor without a problem without the
JRE though.  I did install the JRE anyway because I have some other
stuff that does require it, and I'm going to start Java lessons soon
and all the tools are Windows based.
