I tend to agree with you Michael. As much as I'd like to see all
software be free and open source, the reality is that we exist in a
duality where both software philosophies can coexist. The open source
community simply doesn't have the resources (and maybe the interest, in
some cases) to build open source alternatives to the 'big' proprietary
applications.

While I don't know for sure if you were responding to my message
specifically, the only reason I brought up free vs proprietary was not
because I was taking issue with Ubuntu not being totally free but rather
taking issue with CALLING Ubuntu free (which it isn't). Whether that is
good or bad is up for debate.
