out of curiosity I followed one of the links at the bottom of the
wikipedia entry to the main Ubuntu site, and the word "JeOS" doesn't
appear on it anymore. However, if you search for it on the Ubuntu
site, this seems to be the most recent link:

There's the reason you never saw it -- it's hidden pretty thoroughly.
