The other week I helped a woman whose son had worked all summer to
save up enough for a notebook, only to have it stop working after 6
weeks. I had Ubuntu all nicely preloaded based on her saying that her
son only used the computer for Facebook, but when I got there I found
out that he also used it for iTunes... (and it has issues in Wine:

Ah well, it has a Windows key sticker, so I set it up to dual boot
with XP and left after it started doing the Windows updates
(apparently ~95 the first batch and then she started another 40 more
after a reboot the next morning 8-)
Got a call a couple days later... after the final batch had installed,
the system needed a reboot, so she did that... and then it got stuck
in an infinite reboot loop! Fortunately Ubuntu still works fine, so
they're using that. When I go over to fix the Windows issue I will
just cage XP in Virtualbox ;)
