Please try to avoid using intentionally vague FUD-ish terms like
"intellectual property"---if you are talking about copyright, talk
about copyright, if you are talking about patents, talk about patents.

Patents, copyright, trademarks, design rights, database right, service
marks, et al are all separate concepts designated for specific
separate purposes.

As we've seen with the SCO case, if somebody else approaches you
alledging infringement, it is important to know what is at stake.
