Just FYI to anyone wanting to test out WebM, an easy way is to install
Chromium (the open source part of Chrome) by adding
ppa:chromium-daily/ppa in Synaptic (see
https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/ppa) and installing the
"chromium-browser" package, then going to
http://lachy.id.au/log/2010/05/webm with it (scroll down to "Demo
Time").

You can tell when it's working on YouTube (be sure to go to
http://www.youtube.com/html5 first and if it says "You are not
currently in the HTML5 beta." then click the link immediate below
that, "Join the HTML5 Beta") because it will say:

HTML5 * WEBM

just under the video, on the right, e.g. this should work:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxQiI8c1Bs&webm=1
and the controls will look slightly different from the flash version.
