Well, good! I'm glad it works for you.

I have tried Xubuntu several times myself. I find it not noticeably
quicker or lighter on resources - although even Crunchbang was not
much quicker.  This is what has prompted the development of Lubuntu,
based on Lxde; it is not my sole personal opinion.

I also have tried giving Xubuntu to a novice, but it failed because it
is not possible to lock controls into place on its toolbars/panels, as
you can on GNOME. She accidentally moved or deleted them.

I also tried it personally, but when I discovered the lack of progress
bars on file copy/move operations, that killed it for me. I really
need to know what my computer is doing & have the option of cancelling
it.
