GNOME and KDE4 have nothing near what you can get with KDE3 + kiosktool. 
If someone ports kiosktool over the KDE4, then it will just be GNOME 
left that cannot give users a different desktop based on their group. 
Couple of scripts and get something similar in GNOME? Right.

The only thing about functionality that I have mentioned is group based 
desktops. I do use GNOME since it is pretty much the only choice 
available on OpenSolaris unless you are willing to go through a fair bit 
of pain.

Hey, I am trampling on the Kubuntu Team and KDE4 here too. My apologies 
but I remain doubtful as to GNOME's stability even in Karmic.
