Well to do the reverse the command would be something like:
for(i=0; i<1000000;i++){
   gaze_own_navel();
}

so on the 386 just replace with:
dont_gaze_own_navel();

and after running the same code on both machines they should do pretty
much the same...

(yeah it's not a shell script it's three lines of C/Java code. I
recommend C for the 386 and Java for the other one...)
