Clearly there is *such* *a* *shortage* of kernel developers.  Perhaps you'd
be willing to step up and help share the development load?

There are many other root trees to choose from.  People choose not to,
precisely because they appreciate Linus' oversight.

Viz: you are free to name your own [Unix kernel-like] tree "Reesix", but it
does not follow that anyone will use it---just as various people run
alternative DNS root trees for internet domains;  but the large majority of
people still prefer the original root DNS tree.
