Or licensing the designs so it can send them out the actual foundries.
Microsoft really really really wants to be big in consumer gadgets,
and is only hampered by its efforts so far being complete rubbish.
Even when they do something popular (the XBox 360 was regarded as a
good console with good games) they find some way to snatch defeat from
the jaws of victory (the XBox 360 was made of cheese and apparently
assembled by monkeys with insufficient training).
