Ballmer: The Slates Are Coming

Speaking of slates and tablet computing in general, I saw this on
Engadget today http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/14/acer-said-to-be-launching-7-10-inch-android-tablets-before-the/

Looks like Acer is going to release a 7 - 10inch Android tablet by the
end of 2010.  According to a credible source which has a good track
record of getting Acer rumors right, the devices will be ARM-based and
will run Android 2.2.  Acer is reported in talks with cell carriers
for the 3G enabled models.

This is good news.  Android isn't Ubuntu but it is Linux, its swiftly
becoming the market leader in the mobile OS arena, and that's good for
Linux in general.
