The beauty of Kevin's suggestion, VirtualBox, is that it /is/
independent, both as a Windows VB on Linux and as an Ubuntu VB on
Windows.  Both are just programs running within the other.  I run
several OSs inside VirtualBoxes, just no Windows ones, thankfully.
